Shipping Update
over 6 years ago – Tue, Dec 19, 2017 at 09:40:12 PM

As you might be seeing on Twitter, folks have started receiving their softcover-only backer rewards. We spent the better part of last weekend (with help from others) getting the majority of them out the door. (This is only one of several loads taken to the post office.)

As it stands right now, most of the Domestic softcover-only rewards are out the door, along with a lot of the International ones. We ran out of packing materials at the very end, but will be getting the rest of the stuff shipped soon. We had hoped to get them to everyone in time for the Holidays, but time was against us.

Do let us know if you experience any issues: lost packages, damaged or missing items, etc... If you have not gotten an email with a tracking number you are probably one of the last few we have not shipped yet; but if you are dying to know, just drop us a message.

In more exciting news, the Hardcovers were delivered today. This was about a week later than we had hoped, but they came out fantastic and we look forward to getting them into your hands. It may take us a couple weeks due to the Holidays; but we will keep things rolling along and get them to you ASAP.

Lastly, if folks ask you where they can buy one for themselves, let them know we will have them (softcover and hardcover while they last) available on our website and Amazon.com (maybe only softcover there) in mid-January.

A very Happy Holidays to everyone from all of us here at Sofawolf HQ!

MFF Pickup

If you would like to be able to pick up your Summer in Orcus Kickstarter rewards (everything except hardcovers) at Midwest FurFest, happening the weekend of December 1st - 3rd at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL

This is a ticketed event, so you'd have to be attending the convention already, or be interested enough in seeing what a Furry Con is really like to be willing to purchase a day pass. But, if you want to get your hands on the goods and not wait for shipping, this would be a good opportunity to do so.

Even if you backed at the combined softcover and hardcover level, we can get you what we have now and simplify the hardcover shipping later on.

If interested in doing this, let us know ASAP (basically in the next 24 hours) via either an email to [email protected], or a message through Kickstarter. Let us know your backer name and the real name of the person picking up the rewards, so that we can try to be organized.

It is going to be a bit of a mad rush, as we have two other Kickstarter/Pre-Order runs getting picked up by people at the convention as well. So, when you come by our Dealer's Den table(s) (# D22-D23) please identify what you are picking up. Also, feel free to wait until Saturday morning sometime when things are less hectic...

We will begin shipping the softcover reward levels to everyone else next week, starting with the folks who requested we try to ensure delivery in time for the holidays. We have a lot to go through, but don't expect any problems getting them out in short order. We will keep folks apprised of the progress, and you will get shipment notifications from the shipping system too.

Hardcovers

The hardcovers are printing and we have seen proofs of the gorgeous cloth wrapped case bindings.

The schedule is still to have these in mid-December, which will still make things tight for Holiday delivery. Those who have let us know they would like them for gifts, we will do our best to get them to you in time! Everyone else may be seeing them closer to the New Year.

Kindle eBook Files Added
over 6 years ago – Tue, Nov 14, 2017 at 08:50:46 PM

We have a wee little update for everyone, and this is the easiest way to get the word out. Sorry for the repeated emails.

We stated in our last update that the Generic ePUB format files should work in any e-reader, which is incorrect. Kindle readers do not support the ePUB format directly and require a conversion step first.

Some of you already had this process down pat and ran into no issues, but for those who are not as adventurous we have created and posted Kindle MOBI files for all three books in addition to the ePUBs.

You can get these by returning to the Backerkit digital downloads page where you got the ePUB files originally. (We don't think Backerkit will send out a new email to everyone, but apologies if it does...) Download the MOBI files and send them to your Kindle (however you choose to do that -- I ultimately had to connect it via USB) and they should work without further problems.

Happy reading!

Early November Production Update
over 6 years ago – Wed, Nov 08, 2017 at 11:08:21 PM

A couple weeks ago we visited with Ursula to get the bookplates signed. We had some help from Tiny Orange Kitten. [Vimeo Video] We also recorded a KUEC, the final Digger read-through (which I am editing and should be posted this weekend), a Productivity Alchemy interview, and some guest voices for Hidden Almanac.

The rest of the Kickstarter rewards are in production as well, presumably not involving cats.

  • ePub files for Summer in Orcus and Black Dogs 1 & 2 have been finished, tested on a bunch of devices, and should be dropping in the next day or two. You will get a notification from Backerkit with download links emailed to you.
  • Stickers and prints are in production as well and should be in our hands sometime in the next couple of weeks.
  • Books are in production and we should see softcover books before the end of November. Hardcover books are running a couple weeks later than we anticipated due to some printing production backlogs. We will give another update when we know more.

Because we are starting to look out into December before we can ship the hardcovers, and the delays in shipping that happen around that time of year, it puts delivery in time for The Holidays in peril.

As always, we will do our best to get orders out the door as soon as possible for everyone. But, if you were specifically hoping to have stuff from the Kickstarter for gift-giving, please drop us a note via a Kickstarter message. We will attempt to prioritize the processing of these orders and get them to you in time.

Thanks for your patience and support! Look for eBook notifications this week and we'll get another update out on book production before the end of the month.

Two Days Left to Make Changes to Surveys
over 6 years ago – Wed, Oct 11, 2017 at 04:31:08 PM

Thanks to everyone who has answered their Backerkit pledges! We now only have about 20 people left to hear from and they have been notified through Kickstarter messages. If you have not heard from us, try there!

This coming Friday we will lock down all the pledges with responses, meaning that you will no longer be able to add or change products or levels. You will still be able to make changes to your shipping address information up until we do the final lock down for shipping, however. We are still 2-3 weeks or so out from that.

Credit card charges for add ons and pre-orders will also be charged when we locked down. (We initially thought we would be able to do so on the 3rd, but it is tied to the lock down process. So we delayed until the 13th.)

The bookplates are printed and have arrived and we will be getting them signed next weekend, when we will be in NC to record the final Digger Read-Along with Kevin and Ursula. There will likely be a Kevin and Ursula Eat Cheap recorded as well.

Stickers are printing and we are doing final checks of the layouts for the print edition and are just about to get those rolling. Things are still on track for fulfillment beginning in early November.

eBook rewards should be available sometime next week as well. We are doing final checks of those and will send out notifications via Backerkit (with an update here for good measure).

Finally, we invite anyone who is a music buff to take a look at a Kickstarter we are running for a pal of ours, Fox Amoore, who is putting out a book of piano scores for some of his compositions. Music has been selected for a variety of skill levels, and it will all be collected in a coil-bound print edition (optionally with a CD of the songs played by the artist as they are arranged for the book). There is also a PDF level for those who prefer playing music from their tablet.

Take a look, and help us spread the word! Thanks!
